History of the Club

History of the Club

The club was founded in 1952 in Warsaw’s Praga district by K. Japkowski. In 1975, the club’s headquarters were moved to Wola. During the PRL era, the club received support from the WaryƄski factories, which produced, among other things, crawler excavators. In the 1996/1997 season of the Third Division, Olimpia achieved its greatest success, finishing in second place. However, a 1:2 loss to Warmia Olsztyn (which secured promotion) prevented the club from advancing to the second tier of Polish football. In the following 1997/1998 season, the team finished tenth in the Third Division and was relegated to the Fourth Division, thus ending its adventure in the national leagues. In the mid-90s, plans were made to expand the stadium to 12-18 thousand seats, but due to the lack of major successes, only two stands behind the goals were built, with a capacity of 1,600 seats. Currently, the team competes in the regional league. The club’s emblem features an Ionic column with a capital resembling a scroll or ram’s horns.
